Hello, welcome to my blog! This is new to me but I'm excited to participate in this activity with everyone.
My experience with the Journey On exercise was amazing, normally I can't relax like that and block out all outside distractions or noises unless it's completely quiet and normally this means my husband is either asleep or not home. However, even with my son playing his Madden on Xbox I was able to fully incorporate the exercise and literally hear only the speaker's voice in my headphone. Every thing he directed me to do I was able to do and it amazed me that I really could visualize the blood flow going to my shoulders and down into my arms and hands. I literally felt the warmth and heaviness he described and could see the blood flow as if I had x-ray vision into my own body! When I tried to lift my arms off my lap, I found I could barely even move my fingers, but once he instructed me to visualize the blood flow returning to my abdominal area and GI track, I then could even move my fingers freely, they still felt warm but not heavy. Then my arms felt free to move also and not heavy but I was able to lift them off my lap easily. I then was able to stretch and become completely aware of my surroundings, the noises, the daylight and the time of day. It was neat but I'm still not sure how or when I would be able to implement this exercise except before taking a test. That would be my most high anxiety time so I think before I take the Unit 2 quiz I'm going to try this technique out and maybe it will help me slow down and really process the information. I find I tend to rush through tests out of fear of forgetting what I have learned or just feeling so anxious to get it done.
